10 Quick Tips to Keeping your Heart Healthy!

 

 

  1. Aim for 7 hours of sound sleeping a night.
  2. Cut out Trans fats. (Trans fat appears on the ingredients list as partially hydrogenated oils.  Look for 0 %  trans fats.)
  3. Floss your teeth and get regular checkups. (There has been a proven link    between gum disease and heart disease.)
  4. Get up and move. (If you have a sedentary job, your blood flow can be compromised.)
  5. Stay in the Clear! Don’t smoke and avoid second hand smoke at all costs.
  6. Do some moderate exercise like walking 3 times a week. (Check with your doctor if it’s been a while since you’ve exercised
  7. Keep your diet low in salt.
  8. Maintain normal body weight with caloric adjustment as indicated.
  9. Know your personal risk factors and review them with your physician.
  10. If you’re high risk, consider taking a low dose aspirin (81 mg.) daily. (Check with your doctor first.)
