ST. PETER’S SENIOR MINISTRY WELCOMES ALL

On September 24th and 25th, St. Peter’s Senior Ministry opened its doors to the community by holding an open house.  Members of the ministry welcomed those attending with a warm greeting at the door and a personal tour of the space.  Ministry Director, Bobbie Bradley was on hand to answer questions and introduce her staff, making everyone feel right at home.

St. Peter’s Senior Ministry is the first Senior Ministry in the Diocese of Camden and was opened in 2011. The center operates 5 days a week, serves lunch every day, and provides coffee and goodies at the coffee bar in the morning.  Members can socialize with friends or chose to participate in activities such as exercising, trivia, movies,  the recitation of the rosary and mass once a week, just to name a few.  There are also occasional trips to the theater and holy shrines.

In talking with some of the seniors who come to the center regularly, you get a sense that they have found much more than they ever expected to.   There is a real sense of family among them.  Their stories are similar in that they all came to the center at first to “see what it was all about”, but ended up staying because they found friendship, a feeling of belonging and love.
