The Foundations in Faith Community Nursing Course was held this Fall. Five nurses attended the course through the Parish Nurse office of VITALity Catholic Healthcare Services. The course focuses on the unique skills a parish nurse needs to assist in parish and community outreach. As parish nurses they will foster the care of the whole person; physical, emotional and spiritual. This brings this year’s total to 19 graduates from the Westberg Institutes Program. This is a particularly comprehensive curriculum which provides the nurses with 41 CEUs (continuing education credits). Jo Anne Farrell RN, MSN, CDE, is the Lead Faculty member assisted by other instructors trained through the Institute. The nurses from the previous classes came by to support the new Parish Nurses in their new ministry. Monsignor John Burton blessed the pins and presided at the commissioning ceremony on Saturday October 29, 2016.
