Saint Peter’s Seniors Re-Unite!

On Sunday, Sept. 26th, St. Peter’s Parish seniors joined together in the church hall for the first time since their Parish Senior Day Center closed in 2020.  Welcoming back all those who came to the event was their dedicated leader, Bobbie Bradley and her faithful assistant, Carla.  There were balloons, smiles and lots of love throughout the room.  The day began with an opening prayer from Deacon Mike Scott and then the playing of their old theme song “JOY”, followed by a round robin in which everyone got to give a brief update on what they have been doing since the group last met.   Also in attendance was Karen Fisher, VITALity’s Manager of Parish-Based Senior Programs, who presented Bobbie with a bouquet of flowers to say “Welcome Back“.  After that there was the praying of the rosary and a surprise visit and blessing from Father Wilson Paulose.  Under Bobbie’s direction the group discussed their plans for future meetings and activities and finished the day with some poetry written by one of the seniors.   Next month’s meeting falls on Halloween so naturally there will be a party, with costumes optional!  The group will be meeting on the last Sunday of each month, in the parish hall after the 11:00 am Mass.  All seniors are welcome!
