Parish Nurses Participate in a day of Retreat and Reflection

On May 8 our Parish Nurse ministry held its annual retreat day for our parish nurses and health ministry members at Discovery Ministries in Mullica Township, NJ.  The day of reflection and recollection included a talk from Deacon Jerry Jablonowski, mass with Father Sanjai Devis and a talk by Nicole Keefer, RN, Director of Parish Nursing.  The theme that resonated throughout the day spoke about nursing’s role as both a professional career and vocation. The mass and talks reflected on how each nurse is unique and brings their own individual talents to the field of nursing and how every nurse touches, cares for and enhances the lives of others in some way.  To have responded to the ‘calling’ of nursing and caring for patients in the manner with which nurses do on a daily basis is what makes the profession of nursing a vocation.  The day ended with thanking all in attendance for responding to the ‘calling’ and sharing themselves with others by way of passing along their compassion, faith and clinical knowledge.  If you are a nurse and would like to learn more about parish nursing, please reach out to us.  We welcome all health care professions to join our vocation in helping to serve others.

Parish Nurses from throughout the Diocese of Camden celebrated Mass and a day of reflection on May 8th.
