The Parish Nurses of Saint Joseph’s Somers Point and the Knights of Columbus Council #10220 sponsored a Mass of Healing with the Anointing of the Sick. Mass took place on Sunday afternoon, January 31, 2016 at St. Joseph’s. Each individual and their friends and family were welcomed into the Church and all were encouraged to write their special intentions on cards, to be placed on the altar. After the homily, delivered by the Pastor, Father Edward Namiotka, he and four other priests, assisted by the two deacons of the parish, came down to pray over and anoint all those in need of healing. Watching these prayerful moments, as the youth choir sang softly in the background, was a witness of God’s Mercy for all present. Following the Mass there were refreshments and fellowship in the church hall. The parish community was strengthened by the prayers and love shown that day.
